New York Harper & Brothers, 1896 Second Edition Hardcover Good Hardcover 8vo 8" - 9" tall 
Sturdy, attractive hardcover copy, with neat and tidy paste-downs; not ex-library, with neither highlighting nor underlining. Some scuffing to covers and spine, but gilt lettering and illustrations on cover and spine are undamaged. Some foxing and discoloration to pastedowns. There is a water stain that is present on the lower corner of all pages, but does not affect the readability of the volume. Illustration on frontispiece, protected by parchment, described as "From the large Sketch for the Portrait by G.F. Watts, R.A." Includes photographs of the author as well at pages 42, 118, 186, 226, and 256. Gilt top-staining, with heavy cream pages. 262 pp. Additional postage may be required for oversize or especially heavy volumes, and for sets.

Signed by the author at the first free endpaper, "Mabel Louise Jones/ With the Kind regards/ of her friend/ Geo W. Childs/ Philadelphia/ October 11, 1890. George W. Childs was a friend of Poe and claimed at one point to have had in his possession a rare Poe manuscript. Sturdy, attractive, tightly bound, internally clean hardcover copy, with unbruised tips, neat and tidy paste-downs; not ex-library, with neither highlighting nor underlining. Two-tone light-blue and dark-blue cloth over boards, copper lettering to spine. Clean, unmarked, and tightly bound. 403 pp., and with a fine frontis portrait of the author in black-and-white, protected by tissue guard. Bright and shiny dust jacket, illustrated, showing only very minor wear, protected by a plastic coat, dust jacket not being price-clipped. In addition to author's signature under Limitation text, a signed dedication to "my brothers in the Ohio Theta," is inscribed. Laid-in sepia photograph of the author at front, with several black-and-white photographs throughout. Beautiful hardcover copy with tight binding, no markings. Rough-cut pages, deckled edges. Illustrated navy covers show very little wear, very slight scuffing and bumping to spine head and foot. Gilt lettering to spine. Protected by plastic cover with "Signed" sticker affixed. Stored in a cardboard slipcase bearing previous owner's inscription on spine and showing moderate wear, including split at bottom edge. Reproduction of a Proclamation by Mayor of the City of Westbrook, Maine, announcing a Rudy Vallee holiday at the rear. 262 pp. Additional postage may be required for oversize or especially heavy volumes, and for sets.
