Extensively repaired volume in the complete series. Strips of leather covering the tips and about 1/5 the remainder, with gilt-colored "Balzac" on raised leather on spine. Boards underneath are okay, though front and rear paste-downs have split and then been repaired. Some soiling to paste-downs, front and rear, but then remainder of text is remarkably clean and clear, given its age.
