Blue Jacket Books Store Policies
Forms of Payment Accepted
In store, we accept cash, local checks, debit cards, Visa, Master Card, and American Express. For online orders, we accept PayPal and money orders, and you can use a credit card over the phone or via our e-mail server (write to us at firstname.lastname@example.org) if you prefer. If you do not want to order online, you are welcome to call us with your order at 937-376-3522 and we'll do our best to help you.
Returns All books ordered online are returnable for any reason within 14 days of receipt, as long as they remain in the condition they were in when shipped. Blue Jacket Books will pay return shipping if book is misdescribed. The buyer is generally responsible for return shipping if book is returned for other reasons. Please let us know if you are sending a book back so we will be on the lookout.
Books purchased in-store are considered as-is sales and are not returnable for full credit unless a request for return privileges is made and granted in advance (generally for gift purchases).
Shipping All of our books are carefully and securely packaged. Books with a value over $75 will be insured at our expense.
As you may know, the cost of shipping has recently gone up significantly.
For customers in the United States, we offer three shipping speeds, all by U.S. Mail:
Media Mail, which can take 4-14 business days (how long generally depends on the distance between us and you) is $3.50 for orders under $25.00, and free for orders $25.00 and over.
Priority Mail takes 2-4 business days and is $6.95 for the first book and $5.00 for each additional book. We may need to ask for additional shipping if the volume is large and heavy.
Express Mail (generally an overnight service, but can take 2 days to some locations) is $30 for the first book. Contact us for a quote for larger orders.
For all countries other than Canada and Mexico, the first book is $21.95, each additional is $16.00.
For Canada and Mexico, the first book is $16.95, and each additional is $9.00.
Both international and domestic customers should be aware that our standard shipping costs are based on an average (1-2 lb) sized book. In most cases, we will absorb the cost of shipping if it turns out to be over our quoted cost. However, for some very heavy books or sets of books, it will be necessary for us to contact you to request that you pay an additional postage cost. We will never charge you more than the actual cost of postage, and you will always have the opportunity to cancel your order if you do not wish to pay the additional charge.
